Linda Bushman, of s the high school Association, says if the school collects enough aluminum cans they can win a cash award of $2,000. In addition, a lucky student will win a 1987 red Corvette. "We are so close to winning - just pounds away," Mrs. Bushman says. "We are not proud - we will take anything made of aluminum, but the aluminum cans will help us win the 'Catch the Wave, Be True to Your School Program.' " She urged everyone to "pitch in, give us your cans, foil, cookware, doors, cans, baseball bats, cans, lawn chairs, and more cans. "Our school needs a P.A. system for the football field and this program offers us an excellent opportunity to earn that (the needed) money." Mrs. Bushman explained the school that turns in the most pounds per student enrollment wins the cash award. "With students, parents, business, and community effort, we could be that winning school." Cans can be put in the dumpster set up by the shop area in the southeast corner of the parking lot at the high school (by the big black barrels). "Please bring in those cans before the May 15 deadline," Mrs. Bushman urges.
