After continuing his studies at the Leningrad Conservatory for two years, he won second prize in the 1962 Tchaikovsky Competition. His deep understanding of music, YIN his brilliant technique, his passionate emotion as well as his lyrical delicacy immediately won the hearts of the Moscow audience. Mr. YIN became the piano soloist of the Central Philharmonic Society in Peking in 1965. This led to performances with major orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the the Vienna Philharmonic, Moscow Philharmonic and the Leningrad Philharmonic, working with Eugene Ormandy, Claudio Abbado, Malcolm Sargent, K. Temple Square will resound with music sing-alon- Saturday evening's concert, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Assembly Hall. The program begins with "Of the Father's Love and Begotten" by Chenoweth, continues with a series of English carols, "The Holly and the Ivy," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Deck the Halls." After an organ solo by Elizabeth Hurst Lund, the group will sing "Hannukkah Song - Eight Nights" by Carney and Sladek. The entertainment will also include a selection of traditional Christmas carols with the audience invited to sing along. The concluding number will be "Silent Night." December 13 and 14: Handel's "Messiah" - Oratoria Society of Utah. The Oratorio Society of Utah will present its annual performances of Handel's "Messiah" on Saturday and Sunday evening at 8 p.m. in the Tabernacle.
