Calton, Jones named to all-st- if c $. if, iGaw Samoans to entertain at Perez fundraiser. Polynesia coming to Lehi April Polynesia is coming to Lehi High School April 11! In an effort to help the parents of Silila and Kerry Perez, Samoan students at LHS, to attend graduation for Silila, the LHS track team and newspaper staff are an evening of song and dance to raise funds for their transportation. The school and community have appreciated the contribution of the Perez boys. Silila has been a student at Lehi for three and has in participated track and football where he excelled as state long jump champion and was football honored as an all-sta- te player this past season. Kerry is a junior. Because Samoa is not a wealthy country and the trip will cost at least $3,000, it would be nearly impossible for the parents to share in this event were it not for the generosity and kindness of the citizens of Lehi High School and Lehi City. Tickets will be on sale by 11 Darren Jones and Matt Calton have been named to play with the Utah High School All Star team that will travel to New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania. Both All Staters will leave Salt Lake City on July 5 and will come back at the end of the month after having played 24 games in those three countries. Matt will be one of 10 athletes making up the age 17 and under team. The coach of this team has not been named. Ron Steinke will coach the 19 and under team. Darren will be a member of this elite group. Calton and Jones will have to raise around $2,000 each to defray transportation expenses.
