Press, Review, Wed., April 24, 1985 - Page 20 Prenatal classes open CHANNEL LINE UP The next prenatal classes at the American Fork Hospital begin on April 30 at 7:30 p.m., according to Sally Baird, R.N., instructor. The classes last for six weeks and " include films, video's, guest new one- - to a with speakers, parents baby who come and give demonstrations on giving baby its' bath, breathing techniques with demonstration and practice, a tour of the hospital and various practical ideas. The first lecture introduces expectant parents to the program, fetal development, nutrition during common pregancy, explains discomforts and maternal changes, and includes preadmission to the hospital. Physiology of labor, when to go to the hospital, breathing techniques with demonstration and practice, and a tour of the labor and delivery area of the hospital are included in the second lecture. The third lecture takes up and analgesics anesthesia, childbirth, emergency deliveries, and exercise during pregnancy with a demonstration and practice. The fourth lecture is on the first few days at home after the delivery, infant care, and includes a demonstration on how to bath a one or two week old newborn. The fifth lecture takes up breast and bottle feeding andcontraception, while the sixth and final lecture is on baby's first year of life including the development of the baby, exercise to help baby grow and develop and play and toy ideas. O OCfJKSL-CB- Pageant presents youth concert "A Concert for Youth" will be presented by the Alpine Chamber Music Society Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, April produced by Utah Pageant of the Arts. The concert will be held at the Pageant Center, 454 North Center, American Fork, with curtain time each evening at 7:30 p.m. Leon Honey is director of the Chamber Music Society orchestra. The Salt Lake Chamber Ballet will join with the Chamber Society Orchestra in a special presentation of the classic "Peter and the Wolf." 25-2- Choreography will be by Karen S. Chatterton, artistic director of the ballet. The young dancers now perform as the resident dance company of Sandy City. Allen G. Pulley, American Fork dramatist, will narrale the familiar story by Russian composer Serge Prokofiev. The Alpine Youth Ensemble, directed by Conrad Dunn, will also perform, as will the "Junk" Instrument Ensemble, in a clever Dan explanationdemonstration. Dick and Rick Helm will round out veterans of the Two Foster Grandparent Program at the Utah State Training School will be among those honored at the Recognition Banquet for Foster Grandparents, April 25, at 10:30 a.m., Senior Citizens' Building in Spanish Fork. Honored as foster grandmas are Edith Monson and Reva Moyle. Ten and five year certificates will also be awarded. The person with the longest tenure in the program is Isabell Aston, who has served as a foster grandma for 18 years. Speakers will include Orvile O. Stone, who at age 87 joined the Training School staff. According to Utah State Randy Blackburn, Training School staff coordinator, "The energy these grandparents produce is amazing." The Training School served as a nationwide pilot when the program was instigated 20 years ago. Family Programming 83) USA Network - Sports, Calliope, Uovie Ratings Auditions for a new production of the popular LDS musical "Saturday's Warrior" will be held Thursday, April 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pageant of the Arts Center, 454 N. Center Street, American Fork. Producer of the new production are looking for girls, ages 7 to 10, and male and female roles, ages 15 through adult. The roles of father and mother in the production have not yet been chosen, and dancers are also needed for production. The production will run Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays from May 31 through June 22 run in the Scera Schell in Orem. The production will be under the direction of Marvin Payne. Concert tickets are now on sale at the Pageant box office. 54 East Main (downstairs), American Fork, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.; just $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Tickets may also be purchased at the Pageant Center. Seating is limited to 200 each evening and patrons are urged to purchase their tickets early.
