The board gave unanimous approval to the contract which had been worked out between the district negotiating team and the classified employee's association. The primary clause in the negotiated agreement is a 4.2 increase in the base salary for all classified employees. Classified employees are all those in the district who do not hold a teaching or administrator's certificate; such as secretaries, custodians, bus drivers and school food service personnel. The negotiations had been at an impasse for several weeks and a third party negotiator had been called in to help with the final settlement. Members of the Alpine Classified Employee's Association ratified the agreement at a special meeting held at Pleasant Grove Junior High on Wednesday evening. According to Donna Spendlove, Association President, the employees voted by a margin of 3 to 1 in favor of the settlement. ( (M?
