Spanish Fork District Ranger Ronald Lisonbee said vandals took flasher barricades from the Nebo Loop Road in Payson Canyon; toilets, and mirrors from washbasins, Blackhawk Campground were stolen; and numerous directional signs have been completely or partially destroyed. Forest officials encourage Forest users to enjoy the Forest but to refrain from destroying Forest non-use- year. According to District Ranger Harry Opfar, burning benches, stealing campfire grills, shooting at toilets, and destroying and stealing of signs and bulletin boards cost $5,000 to $6,000 on the Pleasant Grove Ranger District alone. The team is virtually unheralded and the players have not played as a softball team before but all are Tingeys, Barratts and Little Acorns y League in the represent meet. will en- Lehi Fields Team For ASA Softball Tourney Fastpitch Tourney To Be Held In Pleasant Grove Bill Hoglund announced today that the State Class A Men's Fastpitch Softball Tourney will be held in Pleasant Grove starting Monday, Augusts. "At this time we have 15 teams entered from across the state," said Hoglund. "This will be the finest that Utah has to offer in fast pitch he added. Most of the players have had lots of experience in church softball and they are working out with the batting machine and practicing for their first game Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The results of this game were unavailable at press time. Co-Cit- First Annual Handicapped Rodeo The first annual handicapped rodeo to be held at the Utah State Training School will be August 14 at the school arena. Events will begin at 10 a.m. with the rodeo scheduled to end at 11:30 a.m., said Keith Young, Coordinator at the school and director of the rodeo. The public is invited to attend. There is no admission charge. Activities will include barrel racing, bucking bronco, goat roping, steer wrestling, and a parade. "The kids are really looking forward to the rodeo," Mr. Young said, adding he believes this is the first rodeo of its kind to be held in Animals, especially horses, play a big role in the therapeutic treatment of some of the retarded and other handicapped individuals, he said. "Many have come a long way since we first started working with horses three years ago. Floyd, who was insistent we held a rodeo, isn't at the school anymore but I'm sure he will be back for it." Working with the horses help give the kids confidence, he said. saddles been have Special developed to allow the wheelchair residents to ride, and special mounting platforms constructed. A seat belts help hold residents on the horses who aren't too good at balance, and volunteers walk besides the horse to aid in guiding it. Mr. Young said the training school now has 16 horses - all donated to them. Most are thoroughbred Arabians. All saddles, and tack were donated to the school. Mr. Young hopes to someday have a covered arena so the youngsters can enjoy riding all year long. He also looks for completion of a riding trail around the campus. "Our program is unlimited," Mr. Young said, "Anyone who wants to join, or to help with it, can." 4-- Utah.
