Our only incident was to help a citizen locate the source of an odor of over-sheated plastic in his home. we have our second 1200 gallon tank truck about ready to roll. We will probably have it here next week. The five ton truck we got to carry the old 3000 gallon Castle Valley water tank is another matter. We knew there were some parts that we had to get from the military to make it usable. When we got down to really inspecting it in detail, we decided it would make a good parts truck. We are getting a much better unit which is currently road worthy. That means ”someone” is going to have the thrill of driving a five ton military vehicle from the Provo National Guard Armory to the Grand County roadshop. The addition of this hardware will put us in position to work toward another upgrade in our insurance classification. That move will require a substantial improvement in the active participation of our citizens in the fire department. We need to get a lot more knowledgeable people to a fire, quick-1y, than we do now. The only way to do that is to either have a lot of volunteers or have a paid department.
