Show Woa ffiettei $t eiieve Several of the nicest things have happened to me lately. The anticipation and preparations for Christ-ma- s are so joyful and happy I don't see how the actual Al f I Peace Good Fortune fZlry I Our continuing B&K Auto Parts 11 West Main - Lehi 768-352- 1 day could be any happier. First of all, we received an exciting phone call from Ann in California. She told about their shopping sprees, wondering if she had the right sizes and did we think certain people would like what she'd sent. Then Bill and Candy dropped by with their little ones. Candy's grandparents are very ill and they came all the way from St. George to sec them. I went to a party at Evalo Sorenson's and had a lot of fun. Especially when I opened my gift from Thelda Brown. She'd made the "Christmas Mouse" just for me. It's the cutest thing you've ever seen. A genuine lady mouse, dressed fit to kill, and complete with eyeglasses. Golly, what did I do to deserve that! We also were "thrilled" with the visit from the Bishop and his counselors. Ha Ha. Then the HiLos programs are always just a joy! We have the neatest rapport within our group. Such good friends to be with and share memorable moments wilh. We gave a program in Cedar Fort and it was just like going over the river and through the woods to a good friend's house. Those ladies must be some of the best cooks in the world. You should have tasted the food baked hams, casseroles, salads, hot rolls, real butter, steamed pudding with the most delicious sauce I've ever tasted! Wow, it was fun and I don't even have losing! The twins keep sneaking in pulling presents under the tree. I noticed Don had already opened one of his. He's worse than the kids.. .I've shaken a few, measured a couple, but I haven't snooped to opening one.. .But I do wonder what's in that big round one wrapped in green. ...Maybe... Jan called to say that she had to come to lx-h-i last week and she stopped in at Penny's to check out a couple of items. She was on Cloud Nine. "Mom, I've never seen so many neat things. I spent $25 before I'd turned around. Then I went over to Broadbents and couldn't believe it. I found the Christmas material I've been looking all over for! " I just boiled over, "Well, dear, if you'd take your mother's advice and shop in Lehi in the first place. ... " She just laughed, "I will Mom, I promise, I've learned my lesson...." Then I went to another party up to Betty Powell's. You wouldn't believe that house. It's just like walking into Wanamakers in New York, so special are her decorations! Plus, if you've ever been to Betty's, you know about her food and candies. We exchanged gifts and I was lucky enough to get the most gorgeous crocheted hanky from Ida Gray. Also a tin of scrumptious homemade chocolates. I should be so lucky! One of the first joys of the season was a party at Ruth Wing's house. She has things all over the house., even a Santa on her toilet seat! Collectors items from years and years ago are brought out and displayed each year. Ruth has a fantastic collection , and her house just gleamed and shined....you know how it looks in tlie summertime outside well, it looks even neater at Christmastime on the inside Then our darling Second Ward. Oh. Itow I love my ward and the building we re housed in. I can rememlter many moments of long ago.. .one was when in the old First Ward in American Fork, when Ruth Johnson, the Primary president, came dancing tnit dressed like Santa Claus. singing "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." I'll never forget her. She was so wonderful and in my child's mind, the lest St. Nick possible. I rememlK-- r holidays there, wilh Tabby Grant leading the music and Kvelyn llolmstead's dad. Mr. Madsen. bearing his testimonyThen. I moved to liehi and have attended the Second Ward ever since. It's so special to my family and me. Donna cries every time she goes into the Relief Society room. ..There were so many MIA classes that made such an impression.. .One of my lesl Christmas gifts is that it's still there....! love it. at Christmas or any other time of year. Then I'd like to tell my lxss that my job is a very wonderful pari of my life. 1 enjoy the people that come or call to visit and bring a bit of business. I love my writing with all of its pressures and panics. I enjoy the friendships and personalities of those who work wilh me. In other words, thanks a lot, Mike, Ken, Jean, Kip, Russ, Edna, Dennis, Jane, not to mention Gail, Karen, Mont , and all the others. You're very special. Most of all. my wonderful family who are so patient, understanding and loving. I can't express my feelings for all of you. feel that I'm the luckiest wife and mother in the world . ..What more of a Christmas blessing would you want And now.
