Volunteers Serve Meals on Wheels to Lehi Senior Citizens The Senior Citizens federally funded "Meals on Wheels" program has been functioning in Lehi for over two years. B.J. and Violet Lott are in charge of the program, along with a core of volunteers, and they serve hot noon meals to (oca! senior citizens in the Lehi City Hall basement each day. Between 35 and 40 citizens are served a meal each day, and Mr. Lott says that when they have a special dinner the hall is fillled. A 50 cent donation is charged for the meal but persons over 60 who eat the meal can pay what they can afford. There are about 23 senior citizens who help with the meals and donate several hours a week to the meal program. They also pay for their own meals. Meals are served at noon and Mr. Lott says anyone over 60 can come and get a good hot meal at noon. . "We have over 600 Senior Citizens in the Lehi area and about 300 of them are active in the Senior Citizens center," Mr. Lott added. Mr. Loth, who is also in charge of the center, said they plan special monthly trips to BYU and Salt Lake. A special travelogue program is also held at the Lehi Junior High School once a month where a lunch is served. Trips out of the area to Southern Utah and other parts of the state are also planned throughout the year. A special health clinic is opened when needed and all Senior Citizens are invited to get involved in the program. THURSDAY.
