Jackson as assistant clerks. Carl Joseph Mellor Carl Joseph Mellor is a native of Fayette, Sanpete , County, Utah. He is the son of Guy and Fern Larsen Mellor. He attended school in Fayette until the fifth grade and then attended schools in Gunnison, .Utah, graduating from high school there. He holds a degree in elementary education from BYU, earned his of education degree iron BYU in 1958. He has also studied at Illinois State Normal College, Glassboro State Teachers College, the University of Hawaii and Utah State University. i For 13 years he taught at the Lehi Elementary School and for. the past 12 years has served as principal of the Alpine Elementary School in Alpine. He has served his profession as president of the Alpine Education Association, president of the Utah Classroom Teachers Association, presi- dent of the Utah Education Association, president of the Utah Council for the Improvement of Education, has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Association, a member of the Advisory Council of the NEA Department of Classroom Teachers, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Utah Donald Melvin Jones Donald Melvin Jones was sustained as first counselor to Bishop Mellor. He is the oldest son of Alene Shaw Jones and the late Melvin F. Jones. He was born and reared in Lehi, graduating from Lehi High where he was active in sports. Following high school graduation, he worked at the Geneva Works of U.S. Steel Corporation for a short time and then accepted a mission call to the East Central States Mission. Following his return from his mission he was employed by U and I Sugar Company, but later returned to Geneva to resume his employment in the steel industry. He served with the U.S. Army in the occupation force in Germany. Upon his return from military service, he resumed his career at Geneva. Mr. Jones was a member of the Lehi Jaycees for many years, holding many offices. Walter Richard Woffinden Walter Richard Woffinden was sustained as second counselor to Bishop Mellor. He was born in Spanish Fork but has lived most of his life in Lehi. He is the son of Mrs. Myrtle Smith Woffinden and the late Thomas H. Woffinden. He is a graduate of the Lehi High School, where he was active in the F.F.A. He has served in several church positions, including that of home teacher, counselor in the MIA, MIA president, scoutmaster, executive secretary and ward clerk. He is employed at the Geneva Works of U.S. Steel Corporation. He is married to the former Murlene Harding and they are the parents of five children and they have four grandchildren. His hobbies include hunting and fishing. Lowell Richard Hardy Lowell Richard Hardy will serve as executive secretary. He is a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, but claims Orem as his home town. He graduated from Orem High School and earned a BA degree in communications from BYU. He is currently a Seminary teacher at Hillcrest Seminary in Midvale. He is married to the former Martha Ann Ridge and they are the parents of one son. He served a mission to the England Central Mission and has been in his Elder's Quorum presidency and a Sunday School teacher. The Hardys have made their home in Lehi since January 1977. Harold E. Holman Harold E. Holman was called to serve as ward clerk. Mr. Holman is a native of Pleasant Grove, graduating from high school there. He graduated from electronics school in Salt Lake City and is employed as a technician by Hercules, Inc. He is the son of Charles and Florence Holman and is married to the former JoAnn Ingersoll of Provo. They are the parents of one daughter and three sons. Active in the church, Mr. Holman has served as secretary, counselor and superintendent of the MIA, counselor and president of the Sunday School, Aaronic Priesthood secretary and assistant ward clerk. They have made their home in Lehi since 1962, Assistant ward clerks will be Sergie W. Nelson, Jr., Nicholas W. Franklin and Melvin E. Jackson. Sergie W. Nelson Sergie W. Nelson is a native NkMacW.Fraaklla Nicholas W. Franklin was born in Richmond, Virginia, the son of Albeit and Vera Franklin. He as raised in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He served a mission for the church to Sweden. He earned his bacber-lo- r and masters degrees from BYU and is currently an industrial arts instructor at East-mo- nt Junior High School in Sandy. He served for four years with the U.S. Navy and is currently an officer in the Naval Reserve. He is married to the former Jean Smith and they are the parents of three children. Active in the church, he has served as teacher development instructor, assistant ward clerk, Sunday School teacher, first counselor to his group leader, Aaronic Priesthood director and instructor. member of bis elder's quorum leader presidency, and worked in the MIA. He is the immediate past president of the Lehi Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Utah Travel Council. He is active in the church coached the Aaronic Priesthood athletic teams. Melvin E. Jackson Melvin E. Jackson is a native of Flagstaff. Arizona, but grew up in Glendale, Kane County, Utah. He served mission in Scotland and served for nearly nine years in the U.S. Air Force. He is married to the former Sheila Moar and they are the parents of three children. The family has lived in Lehi since 1974. He is employed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and is a member of the Air Force Reserve. Church positions include serving in the Sunday School presidency, home teacher, and advisor to both the Deacon's and Teacher's Quorums. He is employed by PM of Salt Lake City as a civil engineer. He is active in the LDS Church and has served as a Sunday School teacher. Dea- Eighth Ward Bishopric and ie 1973. Ernest A. Koltermann, Jr. Ernest A. Koltermann, Jr. was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Ernest and Viola Pierdolla Koltermann. He graduated from BYU with a degree in business management and accounting and is currently self employed as an accountant and in construc- - C. Brest Williams C. Brent Williams was named ward clerk in the Eighth Ward. He is the son of Dan G. and Lenna Bell Williams of Murray. He has lived in Lehi for the past six years. For four years her served with the U.S. Navy. Active in church service, he has been serving as executive secretary to Bishop Shepherd, has served as Sunday School president, been an officer in his Elder's Quorum and a Sunday School and MIA teacher. He is married to Eva Williams and they are the parents of two daughters. He is a graduate of Utah Technical College in Salt Lake City and holds an AAS degree in Business Management. He is emof Salt ployed by Lake City. Rex Wayne Friat Rex Wayne Friat was born in Lehi and grew up in American Fork and Pleasant Grove. He is the son of the late J.. Wayne and Gladys Craig Friant. He joined the LDS Church in 1958 and served as a missionary in the North Argentine Mission. He served for three years in the U.S. Army and holds a BS degree in civil engineering from BYU. Nuttall is a native of Provo, but moved to Lehi when he was six years old. He is the son of the late Dean and Ludle NuttalL After graduation from the Lehi High School he served a mission to the southern states. He attended BYU and is married to the former Marilyn Woodcax. They are the parents of five children. He is employed for Utah Power and Light Company in Orem. He has served as assistant scoutmaster, deacon quorum advisor. Sunday School teacher, counselor in the Sunday School presidency and as assistant ward clerk.
