Orval DeSpain, soon to depart for the mission field in Georgia, offered the opening prayer. Special music was provided by the combined choirs of the First and Thirteenth Wards. He introduced the two missionaries assigned to Lehi' (both stakes) F, AF North, and Alpine Stake. They are Elder Luce, lere from Kentucky and Elder Woods from So. Carolina. He told of a young missionary in Florida, who did not know a certain family did not want his visit. They invited him in, to "get rid of him." But he went ahead with prayer and teaching. A year later the man of that family was the branch President in that locality, and was instrumental in the building of the first chapel there. He urged students to extend friendship to the one "who stands alone". He named Lehi as the most beautiful place in the world to live. Bishop R. Ward Webb, former Bishop of the Lehi First Ward, expressed appreciation for the stake presidencies since the creation of the Lehi Stake in 1927. He spoke of the joy of serving with high council members. He told of an incident, where a young boy was dragged under water by a crocodile. The father tried to completion in 13 months, or 390 days.
