Show Ul STOIE TO iru u MM 30 Aces Chrisfenssn Gteives taor by Lolii Chapter of Members of Lehi High School's debate class recently presented a seminar on the various procedures involved in Fore ns ics competition. A section on debate was furnished by Holly Johnson, Michelle Sorenson, Rand Handerson, and Larry Jenkins. Brad Rus son presented an oration and Brent Liston gave an impromptu speech. In other proceedings which were emceed by Evan Nielsen, a mock legislative forum session conducted a serious work of business. In recommendation from Jed Richardson, debate coach at BYU, and Jean Harris, debate coach at the high school, an amendment to the NFL Chapter's constitution was passed. The amendment renamed the Lehi Chapter of the National Foren-sic- s League, the Dr. Craig Christensen Chapter of the National Forensic League. Dr. Christensen is a Lehi High School graduate. Dr. Richardson's ceremony, and responded graciously to the signal honor bestowed in her son's honor. She was presented with a beautiful orchid corsage. It was noted that the foren-sic- s squad this year has garnered second place in state competition, with the debate team of Larry Jenkins and AVI ( BYU he was an honor graduate of Northwestern School of Law. He served five years as dean of Cleveland Law School and is now the Dean of Syracuse University Law School: place. The novice debate team of Sally Fowler and Rose Fores-tie- r won a first place at Weber Debate Meet, with another voice team of Susan Bates and Evan Nielsen placing high in ratings in every meet business student at Lehi High School. Jo was honored at the Association's dinner meeting and presented a certificate and gift. Jo is active in schools affairs. She was a Sterling Scholar nominee in business, is a Thespian, a member of the Future Homemakers of America, historian of the Pionettes and a four-yemember of the Lehi High Chapter of the National Honor Society. She is an officer in the Future Business Leaders of America. She is active in the LDS Church and is currently senior Sunday School chorister and has been a MIA class officer. Each week, this column Rickey Carter, a senior student at Lehi High School, was named Outstanding Soloist at the recent State Solo and Ensemble Festival. He was the only student from the 2A schools so honored. He played a trombone solo "Solique" accompanied by the high school stage band. Rickey has been playing trombone for the past eight years. He also plays piano, bass and rhythm guitar and keyboard. He is a member of the stage band and Concert Band and plays with the group "Sandstone". He has been a member of the concert choir and is a Thespian and has suggestions we receive from our customers. You are warmly invited to participate.
