Fori; Area Full-Tim- e Friendship introduced Elder Charles Van Gorder to the LDS Church four years ago. e Now he is serving a mission for his church and is laboring in American Fork, Lehi. Alpine and Highland. Serving in the area with him is Elder Jim Chadlmers. They have been here about two weeks and are becoming a familiar sight as they ride their bicycles on the streets and of the area. Elder Van Gorder explained that a neighbor in his home town was a Mormon and was a good example to him. The neighbor got him involved in LDS activities. This, in turn, led to the conversion of he and his brother the only members of their family to join at this time. He said there are four boys and two girls in his famiby-wa- ly. mission. A resident of Cortland, New York, Elder Van Gorder has been in the mission field for about 16 months and is district leader in this area. He was called to the Idaho mission which took in parts of Utah. At the time the Utah Salt Lake mission was formed, he was laboring in Ogden and was transferred to serve in the newly formed mission.
