The observance was in connection with their Social Studies lessons about Utah history and class members brought antiques and relics to show the class and dressed in Pioneer costumes. PARTY FOR CLIFF AUSTIN A group of Young Adults from Lehi Stake paid a surprise visit to Clifford Austin last Sunday, the occasion being his 83rd birthday. His parents Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Evans ran the Evans Cafe in Lehi until 1960. While he was living in Lehi, Bill was active in high school from 1957-6forming at age 10 (mainly tap dance) in Lehi and throughout northern Utah County. After leaving Lehi, Mr. Evans attended the University of Utah and danced as a principal in what is now Ballet West for three years. Following two years in the U.S. Army, he studied in New York and danced with the Chicago Opera Ballet. In 1967, Bill Evans joined Utah Repertory Dance Theatre where he became the company's principal choreographer, creating 18 major works and performing in hundreds of concerts throughout this country and abroad. Mr. Evans is presently director of the Bill Evans Dance Company and assistant professor in the University of Utah's Department of Ballet and Modern Dance. The Bill Evans Dance Company is pleased to present a concert by a native son of the Orem. area.
