Show Coaches Player Of the Game The coaches named Stacy Smith as the offensive and defensive player of the game last Saturday against Spring-ville- , Stacy accounted for 60 yards, rushing in seven carries and had two good runs of 25 and 15 yards. He also played an excellent game on defense, making numerous tackles and assists. Congratulations on al all out effort! Pioneers Lose to Devils The Lehi Pioneers season opener had to be a totally disappointing day for the team, coaches and fans alike as Springville dominated the game and scored a big victory. After both teams failed on their initial offensive drives, the Devil's found the combination and pushed over their first TD for a lead at the three minute mark. Lehi came back on the ensuing drive with Welch hitting Harr for eight yards, but the next two plays failed to produce a first down and Lehi was forced to kick. The wind came up at that time and was a factor for most of the remainder of the game. Springville was threatening again as the quarter wound down. Todd Nelson intercepted Springville errors as Stacy Smith came up with an interception and Austil revovered a fumble, but Lehi could not turn them into scores. The Devil's dominated the second quarter as they scored two TD's and had a third drive stalled by a Ryan Davis interception. The Devils led by a 0 score at half. Lehi's first first down of the game came as they mounted their most serious drive in the waning moments, highlighted by a 25 yard draw play to Stacy Smith. The second half opened with Springville receiving, and they marched to pay dirt, putting the game out of reach for up, 7-- LDS Stake.
