It was the week of upsets as favored AF, Payson and Lehi all met defeat and send the Region Six standings into chaos. The Pioneer defensive crew went to work immediately as they held Carbon to no gain. Lehi look over at midfield and marched to what looked like a 13-- 0 scoring drive. Carbon stiffened and punts were exchanged. A string of turnovers changed the outlook of the game as fumbles and interceptions were made by both teams. Drew Downs forced on a Carbon fumble and Robert NOTICE TO CREDITORS Davis stole the ball from a Dino to give Lehi another offensive opportunity. Chip Atkinson kept the Dinos deep in their territory as his punts boomed downfield for yardage. Lehi had one scoring opportunity following Davis' steal, but the pass was intercepted at the goal. The half ended Carbon wasted no time as their cornerback intercepted a Lehi pass with 45 seconds gone and scampered 40 yards for a score. The second touchdown came late in the game to ice the victory. The Lehisdefense played super ball keeping the Dino offense out of the end zone for 45 minutes. Robert Davis played an excellent game, intercepting two passes, forcing one fumble, and making numerous tackles. 0-- ESTATE OF JACOB L. MC KINNEY, Deceased. Ken Norris head coach, Richard Smith and Doug Yates assistants brought the Giants on strong in the past few games, and the Giants surely must be "most improved", and the staff did a good job this season. I've been hearing more and more deer hunting yarns and thought you might enjoy these classics with me. Our good friend, the late Ber-ne- ll Bateman, used to spin a tale or two including one about a deer hunt he took with Alex Christofferson. It seems the hunting party were settled on one ridge when Alex spotted a deer on another ridge. Alex kneeled, aimed, and shot. He laid down his gun and ran over to get his deer. He and the deer disappeared over the ridge. In a minute the deer and Alex appeared back over the ridge. The rest of the hunters ran over to help and there was Alex, minus most of his clothes (and hide) from the hips down, but he still had his deer!
