It was pointed out that about one third of the concrete was breaking up due to faulty concrete being used initially. The matter was discussed and a motion was made by Davis to reduce the assessment by dropping the interest charged for the last four years. Mercer is to pay the new assessment and the city is to replace the bad sections of the sidewalk in the spring. Councilman Davis reported that the county is considering taking over the operation of the dump grounds at no cost to the city.
