Olympian Club Opens fall Season With Social Miss Alauna Heiselt, Michael B. Duke new La Feria Reception Center at 189 W. Main, Lehi. Mrs. Sunderland introduced a commentator and models from Vittorios, an Italian Fashion Boutique in Provo. The girls modeled beautiful hand-maoriginals from fashion houses in Italy. The collection included coats, hats, suits, tuxedos, boots, gloves, and children's beautiful hand-maclothes. They saw No. 404, the big pumper fire truck and were shown how firemen handle the equipment to efficiently extinguish a fire. Rod Derrick, cosmetology inat Utah Technical Colat Salt Lake, has been named lege "Cosmetologist of the Year" by the Utah Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association. The award was made Monday night, Sept. 27, at a fashion and hair show at the Terrace Ballroom. Licensed cosmetologists in the state are eligible for the award. Mr. Derrick won this year's honor for the highest accumulated contest point total through the past year. In competitions, Mr. Derrick won first place in permanent waving, a second place in hair cutting, second place in hair coloring, and a third place in hair styling. Mr. Derrick has been at Utah lf Tech for the past two and years, and has helped to bring 15 local and state competition trophies to the school and its students during that time. The award was presented by Mrs. Uintah Bullock, president of the association, who said Mr. Derrick is one of the outstanding members of the association in promotion of cosmetologists throughout the state.
