Show THE Bluebell DUP Camp Hears About Irish Timo Chanter Music Teachers Meet "Mormons from Ireland" the lesson of the highlighted Blue. Bell Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Camp Thursday, Feb. 12 as 18 members gathered for a regular monthly meeting. Meeting in the Second Ward Relief Society Room, the camp, with captain Adelaide Ferman presiding and conducting, sang several patriotic songs. Led by Beth Jolley and accompanied by Lela Lott, they sang "America the Beautiful" and practiced such Irish songs as "Lament of the Song was sung for Hazel Roberts, Patta Gray, and Aurella Gerber. Miss Ann Loveridge . . . engaged Miss Ann Loveridge Engaged Mr. and Mrs. Leo H. Loveridge are announcing the engagement of their daughter Ann. She is betrothed to Robert H. Johnson, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henderson Johnson of Panguitch. A summer wedding in the Salt Lake LD3 Temple is being planned by the engaged couple. Miss Loveridge is a graduate of the Lehi High School and is currently a student at BYU. While at the local school she was an Honor Student, a member of the National Honor Society, Business Manager and a member of the Yearbook staff, an officer and member of the Pep Club, an officer and member of the Future Homemakers of America and a Thespian. She is a fourth-yeSeminary graduate. Mr. Johnson willgraduatefrom Southern Utah State College this month, with a degree in Business Management. He has fulfilled an ar LDS Mission totheCentralStates and completed a tour of duty with the U. S. Army. While in the Army he served most of his tour as an LDS Chaplain's Assistant at Fort Carson, Colorado. At SUSC he has served as Cultural Vice President and is currently president of Delta Phi Kappa (returned LDS Missionary) Fraternity and is a member of the LDSSA (Latter-da- y Saint Student Association) Student Council. He is a graduate of Panguitch High School, where he was student body vice president. He was a delegate to Boys' State, and a member of the FFA Dairy Judging Team from UtahwhichwonaGold Medal at the National Dairy Judging Contest. Sherry Baker Plans August Wedding Dale Auctus Club Sees Oriental Exhibit Auctus Club women were reby Mrs. Clell (Jeanne) Jackson at her home during a dinner and program centered around the theme "Interests of the Orient." Mrs. Jackson spoke to the 20 present about the different cently hosted Oriental countries she had visited last June as a part of the International Lions Club tour and visit ten during a three-monyears ago. She exhibited such art work as a lacquer from Japan, cloth from Hong Kong, pewter from Singapore, wood carvings from the Phillipines and silk from th Thailand. As a special exhibit, Mrs. Jackson's daughter, Mrs. Michael (Marilyn) Lloyd of Logan modeled her wedding dress, which was made especially for her in Hong Kong. Mrs. Lloyd also assisted her mother with a special oriental dinner of chow mein and fortune cookies following the Peterson. Mrs. Irene Wilson presented the lesson on the Irish Immigrant, stressing that the DUP placed a marker in Ireland commemoratancestors ing its Mormon-Iris- h in 1969. Closing prayer was offered by Gladys Trane, followed by "A Thought For Today," given by Mrs. Ferman. Serving as secretary at the meeting was Mrs. Elva A. Allen, substituting for Pearl Peterson. Refreshments, following aVal-enti- ne and Patriotic theme, were served by Deliah Worley, Ethel Hunger, Myrtle Woffinden and Rowene Vibbert. Serimpians See Mink Style Show Verda Peterson Hew President Of Pink Ladies Mrs. Verda Peterson was installed as president of the American Fork Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary last Thursday, Feb. 26, at installation ceremonies held at the Alpine Country Club. Norine Fox was installed as vice president with Betty Robinson, secretary and Rowena Vibbert, treasurer. The new officers were given the Oath of Office by Wayne R. McTague, American Fork A mink style show highlighted the Serimpian Club program recently as members met at the home of Mrs. Don L. (Malene) Bean to see and hear Mrs. Paul R. (Ann) Williams of Highland tell of her experiences in the mink ranching business. She explained the different types of mink: how they are raised, breeded and made ready for market. Of special interest were the several pelts and styles of fur coats and stoles which she showed the ladies. A special sidelight of her talk was her description of the many interesting places and people she has met in her travels to New York and to Europe with her Hospital Administrator. Each was presented with a pin by Dean Garrett, a member of the Hospital Board. Mrs. Alice Clements, outgoing president, was presented with a past president's pin. A planter was also presented to her and one to Mrs. Kay Bar-rat- t, past treasurer by Verda Peterson. Mrs. Arlene Newman was also awarded for her work as past secretary. Mrs. Clements, Mr. Garratt and Mr. each spoke McTague briefly. Forty-foladies attended the luncheon. Hospital personnel attending besides Mr. McTague ur were Irene Evans, director of nursing, David Kjar, business manager; and Betty McTague, Pink Lady Director. A delicious "Guys and Dolls," the popular Broadway musical which has attracted large audiences to both the stage and motion picture versions, will be the next production of the Utah Valley Opera Association, according to Sparks, president of the organization. The Utah Valley premiere of "Guys and Dolls" will be preon the stage of sented May 13-the Pleasant Grove High School. Director of the production will be David E. Larsen. Auditions for the singing, dancing and dramatic parts in"Guys and Dolls" will be held on three successive nights in Provo, Springville and Pleasant Grove. At 7:30 p.m. March 5, auditions will be held in the Franklin Elementary School, 355 South 700 West, Provo. At 7:30 p.m. March 6, auditions will be held in the Grant Elementary School, 400 East 200 South, Springville. At 7:30 p.m. March 7, audi tions will be held in the Plea- sant Grove High School. Twelve members were in attendance. Two students delighted the teachers with their piano numbers. Lisa Flinders, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Niel Flinders, and student of Janeen Ranolphson played along with Drew Major, student of Joana Major. Chapter President Mrs. Elaine Hadfield told the members about the Utah Music Teachers Convention in May and the Western States Music Teachers Convention.
