Seven miles of new wir- imr. and vast other imorovements will give the cast more room and light than ever before. The production will be headed bv Dr. Harold I. Hansen, who teaches in the Dramatic Arts Department of Brigham Young Uniersitv. and whom also for the last 31 years has been the Pa geant's Director. He will arrive prior to the cast to prepare his instruction, which he will give participants for only one week before they perform. Soldiers 01 Bo3ting Advisory Council . Of Interest to friends in two states comes the announcement of the engagement and approach ing marriage of Miss Merrilyn Jackson of Lehi, to K. Michael Lloyd of Aberdeen, Idaho. Friday September 5, is the date set for the ceremony which will be performed in the Salt Lake Temple. The announcement Is made by the parents of the intended bride, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Jackson of Lehi. The prospective bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon W. Lloyd of Aber 5 carrying a minor in Fine Arts. She plans to do her student teaching in the Cache County schools this fall. At Utah State University, she is a member of the Women's Honorary Sorority, Alpha Lamba Delta, along with a two year membership in the R.O.T.C. Sponsor Corps. She has been on the honor roll, receiving the Phi Kappa certificate for her outstanding scholastic Council which was unknowingly abolished by the last legislature through passage of Senate Bill 169 after it was revised and amended many times. In his executive order the Governor stated "a need for a body to review and offer suggestions regarding boating policy." The new Council met for the first time on July 21 at the Division of Parks and Recreation office at 132 South 2nd West, Salt Lake City and elected William A. Carver, representing the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, as its chairman. The Marine Dealers representative, Peter Wilson, will serve as vice chairman. Other members include C. Victor Dover, who was the previous council chairman for nine years and represents the Federated Boat Clubs, Jack Allshouse, representing the Utah Wildlife & Outdoor Recreation Federation and a new member from the Western River Guides Association, Jack Currey. The Council's first task was to list the proposed procedures under which it will be able toad-vis- e the Board of Parks and Recreation of the desires of the various boating interests in the administration of all phases of the boating program. Vows will be exchanged in the Salt Lake Temple, on Thursday, August 7. The parents of the Intended bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Duane Crooks of Provo. A reception will honor the newlyweds in the Lehi Stake Center, 200 North Center Street, Lehi, on Friday, August 8.
