The tree was made using two bundles of lathe, a six-folength of pipe, and a lot of imagination and ingenuity. Gold paint was sprayed on the lathe. Pine boughs, large pink balls, red cardinals and an attractive tree top ornament add the finishing touches. Tree is graduated with larger strips at the bottom, tapering to very small at top. Watermelons were at their best for refreshments. Members exchanged news and plans were made for a tour of the Hutchings Museum in Lehi, to view the exhibits. August also provided a trip to the State Fair in Salt Lake City. Two full bus loads took advantage of the outing and toured the many exhibits at the fair. The "Ice Capades" was a most colorful entertainment feature of the occasion. With the weather warm and delightful in September, and the canyon foliage at its best, a group of Lehi Senior Citizens enjoyed a canyon tour.
