Jack Reid and Ron Peck have served very capably in the capa city of field directors this sum mer, with assistance of volunteer coaches, scorekeepers, timers, and umpires. Mrs. June Holbrook has once more captivated the in terest of the youngsters with her interesting and novel projects in arts and crafts. Mrs. Sheila Mc Kinney has started tiny dancers and assisted intermediate young sters In learning tap, ballet, and acrobatic skills in a complete dancing program. Ron Peck was directly in charge of the Little League games along with the other baseball games, helping players meet schedules and keeping the fields in order. Mr. Reid has assisted Ron and also has been in charge of conducting beginning and intermediate tennis clinics as well as coaching the tennis teams in the inter-cit- y meets. The library story hours with Miss Pat Brown and Miss Kathryn Wanlass as the story tellers, have also added a pleasant and relaxing part to the entire program. The bands have been most effective under the direction of Richard Devey and Paul Halverson, making an impressive contribution in the parades when they appeared and the students have benefited from their experience in "Summer Band. On behalf of the recreation committee, a vote of thanks Is extended to all those who have given of their time and effort to provide wholesome recreation and relaxation during these summer days. 9. August The teams did not see action this week, but the players will complete the sche dule next Wednesday. Jack Reid, field direc tor of the Summer Recreation program has efficiently assisted the girls with preparation of the fields and supplying needed enuinmwit. Casper Presented Award at Alpine At American Fork's Alpine Golf Course last week, top golf er Billy Casper displayed his talents to the enjoyment of a large group of club members and guests. Everyone there was amazed at his control of the golf ball, and members are still talking about the clinic that Mr. Casper conducted for them. Several have been heard to say that he surely helped them in their own games. The LDS tourney was won by Robert Borovicka of Reno, Nevada. In the Junior Division, long ball hitting Mitch Voges won. Larry Sumtnerhays of Salt Lake City won the Veterans Division. Mr. Casper was presented Athlete of the Year award at the banquet as awards were given to the winners.
