On Monday, August 7, at 5:30 p.m., a watermelon bust has been planned for all boys who played on a Little League team during the past summer season. Ron Peck, in charge of this program, also wishes to remind the boys to have their uniforms clean and ready to turn in at this time. An inventory is necessary to be Q made for future planning and pur chase of new uniforms for the games to be played next year. Mothers of these boys are also asked to take note of the twofold purpose of the watermelon bust, and urge their boys to have the uniforms ready. Both of the Lehi boys graduated from the Lehi High School and plan to attend BYU. Both have been awarded scholarships. Nile was valedictorian of his class and was also president of the Seminary class. Active in athletics, he also took part In drama, was affiliated with the Thespian Club and was president of the National Honor Society. He has attained the Duty to God award for church activities. He is currently employed by the Alpine School District. Mr. Rushton graduated as president of the studentbody of Lehi High School. Active in church affairs, he Is secretary of the YMMIA. He follows employment at the Gibson Store in Salt Lake City. No Open Burning because of the hot dry weather conditions, there is to be no more open burning In Lehi until further notice. Fire Chief, Rex Southwick, is making this request and reminds residents, also, that the city ordinance requires that incinerator fires are to be lit between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. or at a time when the fire will not cause unnecessary smoking after 4 p.m. The cooperation of every family is being asked in this matter to avoid costly and destructive fires In our city. Play Final Games The Lehi Auxiliary Police in their continuous effort to improve their ambulance service and achieve the professional level of emergency care to which the citizens of Lehi are deserving have announced plans to send several members of their group to an advanced course in "The Emergency Care and Transportation of the Injured." The school Is the only one of its kind and the Auxiliary is honored by being invited to attend. The school Is held annually In Portland, Oregon. This year the 6. date is September It is sponsored and presented by the Committee on Injuries of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in cooperation with the Portland Fire Department. According to First Lt. Roland Dean, the Auxiliary Police Training Officer, the need for this specialized training should be evident and of vital concern to every one in Lehi. Dean stated that the expenses connected with this endeavor are more than the group can assume by themselves. Therefore, the Auxiliary is extending an invitation to all private citizens, businesses, and organized clubs to participate in this project by donating whatever they can. Donations may be made to members of the Auxiliary or mailed to the Lehi Auxiliary Police, P. O. She Is being sponsored in the contest by KDOC Radio in Provo. The contest is being sponsored under the direction of the Salt Lake Junior Chamber of Commerce. Ellison as he won In straight sets over John Utah-Wor- ld On Saturday, July 22, Blaine Adamson of Lehi assumed the operation of the American Service Station, located at 108 East State Street. Mr. Adamson will adopt the name of Blaine's American Service for his business and he is planning a grand opening after a complete renovation of the station is made. Tentative station hours will be from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Mr. Adamson will be assisted by Carl Clark and Brian Burgess. He will feature complete automotive service and invites the continued support of present customers as well as new pa- Under the general chairmanship of Ned Wilson, the committee for the 'Miss Lehi" Pageant is earnestly working and making necessary arrangements to present to the residents of our community another outstanding evening of gracious entertainment. Our own local young ladies will provide the talent for this program which has proven so successful in the past summers. Margie Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kirkham and has continued her talent activities since her graduation from high school by establishing her own dancing studio, giving lessons inTap, Ballet, Modern and Character dancing. Dancing has always been a large part of her life and she has had a chance to express this while In high school, taking part In the major productions of 'Oklahoma and'Brlgadoon as well as "My Fair Lady." While In high school, she was a member of the band's color guard, belonged to the Pep Club, FHA, the Drama Club and Biology Looking forward to her participation in the 1967 version of the 'Miss Lehi" Pageant Is Miss Opal Colledge, eighteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evan L. Colledge, Jr. Opal is now enrolled In the Continental Beauty School and plans to gradnatenext July. She is Interested In hair styling and in sewing. She styles and sews most of the articles In her own wardrobe. Because of this talent and Interest, Opal placed fourth in the Region Make-- It Yourself With Wool Contest and entered the state competition In Salt Lake City. Opal graduated from the Lehi High School and LDS Seminary and was most active while in school. She served as president of the FHA, cheered with the teams as a Varsity Cheerleader, was Assistant Drill Mistress in the Pep Cmb, sang with the school chorus, and took part in NFL activities along with her position as secretary of her Seminary class. She enjoys all sports, as a spectator. For her talent contribution in the pagenat, Opal win give a sewing and hair styling demonstration. Club. Mrs. Wilson Rhone Dies as Result Of Auto Accident Funeral services for E. Isabel Wallace Hutchings Rhone, 47, of American Fork were conducted on Saturday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at 4330 South Redwood Road in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Rhone died Tuesday, July 25, In an Orem rest home of injuries suffered in an automobile accident December 3L 1966. She was born April 17, 1920 In Granger, a daughter of Joslah George and Catherine Solomon Wallace. She was married to Robert Byron Hutchings In October 1937 In Salt Lake City. He died in March, 1957. She married Wilson C. Rhone, August 19, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She Is a member of the LDS Church. Mrs. Rhone Is survived bv her husband, sons and daughters Byron W. Hutchings, George R.
