Special feature of the trip was the ride by snowmobile through the scenic winter wonderland, with v drifts, 15 feet deep. Hundreds of elk and deer were seen, as well as buffalo, coyotes, geese and swans, in the area. It was reported that only a few motels and cafes are open for business.
