Harvey, Pleasant Grove, and Chairman of die Alpine Soil Coaservation District was awarded the Soil Conservationist of die year. This award was given for outstanding soil conservation effort in the State during the year. This includes all phases of soil and water conservation within the state, small watershed development, soil and wind erosion control and other recognized soil and water conservation measures. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, leaving on his mission three months after his discharge. These, along with many other duties have marked Leo as one of our outstanding conservationists of natural resources. This award is the first annual conservation awards sponsored by the Utah Wildlife Federation in cooperation with the Sears-RoebuFoundation and die National Wildlife Federation.
