Show THE LEHI FREE PRESS THURSDAY, APRIL. 11, 1963 Lehi Girls Invited to Enter Contest For 'Days of '47' Queen, Attendants Lehi eirls who are of pioneer descent, age 18 to 25. who have never been married, are invited to register for the "Days of '47" royalty contest. Mrs. Virgil H. Peterson, committee member, urges a good turnout of Lehi girls for this important assignment. Mrs. Peterson is being assisted on the committee by Mrs. N. S. Peck. Application blanks may be obtained from these committee members or from the Daughters of Utah Pioneers building in Salt Lake City. The applications may be completed and submitted there or with Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Peck. A small picture, size 2'i by 4 inches, which may or many not be returned, must be submitted with the application. The contest will close on Tuesday, May 14. There will be a lovely "Get Ac quainted" luncheon for all contestants on Saturday, May 18, at 12 noon in the Clark cafeteria at the State Capitol. On Saturday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m., the Queen's contest will begin. The selection of the queen and two attendants will take place at the Capitol. Contestant must be at the capitol at 5:30 p.m. to draw a number for her place in the contest. She must be dressed in afternoon or street dress, ready for the contest. She will make two appearances before the judges, one in afternoon or street dress and again in formal attire at which time she will be interviewed. Every contestant will receive a ticket for herself and her escort to the Coronation Ball to be held Friday, June 8, at the Terrace Ballroom, 464 South Main, Salt Lake City, the tabernacle concert and other activities. Every contestant becomes an important part of the Days of- '47 celebra- tion. Scholarships are being worked out for one year tuition at the University of Utah, Utah State University and Brigham Young University. Mrs. Peterson stressed that the committee would like to obtain at least 100 contestants and she would like to see a good n representation from Lehi. For information, girls are invited to contact Mrs. Peterson or Mrs. Peck. fur-the- WELCOME HOME FOR ELDER RONALD DETTMAU The welcome home for Elder Ronald Dettmar, who returned recently from the North British Mission, will be held Sunday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fourth Ward chapel. Friends and family members are invited to join with ward members in attendance. Elder Dettmar is the son of Mrs. Louis (Alta) Hansen. He is now following employment with the Beuhner Block Co. EASTER CANTATA SUNDAY, APRIL 14 A sacred cantata, "Resurrection Morning," will highlight Easter Sunday in the Seventh Ward, April 14, at 5:30 p.m. All ward members and others interested are reminded to attend for an outstanding occasion, at the ward chapel.
