Friday, we visited three important community helpers. Special thanks for this educational experience go to the people of the Lehi Free Press, State Bank of Lehi, and the Lesi Postoffice. Following ae some of the accounts written by the children about our trip: From Mrs. Dubois' Room On Friday, May 18, the second grades of our school went down town to see some of the helpers in our town. First we saw the post office; then we saw the bank. After that we went to the Free Press. We learned many things. We thank the people in our town for letting us come to their places to learn many things. By Cindy Lee Turner On Friday, May 18, the second grades went down town and went in the postoffice. Mr. Price showed us how they sorted the letters and how they locked the mail bags. We went to the bank, and Mr. Zimmerman showed us how much money men bring in an armoured truck, and he showed us a hundred dollar bill. Then we went to the bank. There Kve saw a big door that had a time lock. Then we went to the Free Press. There we saw how the paper is made. There is a machine that cuts paper. The folding machine has great big pulleys and great big belts. There are steel rods to hoid the pulleys up, and a steel plate also. The third time it folds it goes down on the plate.
