Show Two Guardsmen Receive Utah County Residents to Receive Direct Dialing Service in November Lieutenant Bar Mark S. Uttleford and John Knollin Haws, both members of Lehi's National Guard unit, were presented with the gold bar of second lieutenants upon their graduation from the Utah National Guard Military Academy at the conclusion of this year's summer encampment Lieutenants Uttleford and Haws both finished among the top five in their graduating class of 23, an outstanding accomplishment in an extremely rigorous and demanding course requiring one year of part time study and two full summer camps to complete. Both young officers were assigned to their parent unit in Lehi, where Lt. Uttleford will become a platoon leader. Lt. Haws is uncertain as to whether he will accept his commission or remain as e the unit's First Sergeant and employee. In any case, members of the unit were happy to have them back and joined their many friends in congratulating them on their outstanding full-tim- Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Palmer and son Rhett, spent the weekend visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Eklon Comer. She will be remembered as the former Caro-Tn-e Corner. They are now living in Monticollo. where Mr. Palmer is the San Juan County Judge. He died July 12, in Haines, Oregon, where he resided. Funeral services were held in Haines, Monday, July 18. He wag born April 6, 1893, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of J. W. and Annie Francis Mason Lawhorn. He married Laura Dellimore in July, 1918. She died August 13, 1937. He later married Isabel Lawhorn, March 8, 1956., He was an EJder.in the LDS Church. Mr. Lawhorn is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Cramer, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lucille Hall, Haines, Ore.; Mrs. Leona Francke, Kearns.
