The average of club at tendance has proved this, for though we may be taught by the help of another's knowledge, we can never be wise but by our own experience. The club was staffed by very capable leaders during the past year, these being Lucile Evans, president; Geraldine Brems, vice president; Phyllis Crookston, secretary; Joyce Karren, treasurer; Sharon Judd and Marna Berry, program chairmen; Bonnie South-wicreporter; Dalene Jones, historian; and Ann Allen, litany. The civic committee consisted of Joyce Wilson, Joyce Morton and Maxine Black. This energetic committee was assisted by other loyal club members and produced a sweepstakes float winch netted the club $25 in prize money.! The Letitian Club has been the only club to consecutively enter a float every year. The Club has supported many drives, among these the polio and tuberculosis, etc. When the community sponsored a carnival to raise funds for the Hutchings Museum, the Club members were behind the drive in furnishing home-mad- e candy and being on hand to decorate the selling booth and sell candy at the affair. They, together with the Thalian Club, won a pig and a sack of grain. These they donated back and auctioned them off, turning the proceeds to the mu- k, whole-hearted- ly I seum fund. They also assisted with the project of having a bust of 'John Hutchings scuptured for the museum. These things show the spirit of the Letitian Club, a group of young mothers trying to make their city a better place to live in and making themselves better citizens by learning through personal experiences. Many entertaining programs were presented to the club members. Outstanding among them were book reviews, color slides on Europe, first aid demonstrations, the Mother-of-th- e year program and their annual Mother's Tea, also a tour through the Hutchings Museum. Also not to be forgotten is their friendly Christmas, Halloween receipe exchange and summer parties which help knit the club closer together. Two new members have been added to the enrollment, these being Shirley Southwick and Fern Whimpey.
