Show LEITI FREE PRESS, LEHI, UTAH THURSDAY, JULY 21, 1955 District Four Riding Club Original Stake Relief Society Board al Holds Party July 13 Semi-Annu- By Fern Russon With the organization of the Lehi Stake in August 1928, there w as organized also, a Stake Relief I Lehi High School Conducting Society Board, most of whose members remained as a unit until its release ten years later. Two of the sixteen, who served on the board somtime during those years, moved to Salt Lake City. Five of the number passed away. Ever since the group was released, they have met twice a year for a party. In the winter they gather at the home of their President, Mina Webb for a hot dinner and an afternoon of lively games and endearing companionship. Last Wednesday, the group met on the' park for their summer party. A chicken dinner with all the trimmings was the outstanding feature of the affair. Table games, recollections of years with interesting and humorous accounts of current work and pastimes combined to make a most wonderful afternoon. Whether or not the departed ones are mentioned, there are sure to be many thoughts of them and, 'Of course we all miss them we think of them still, as they watch from their mansions Up There on the hill." Far from being "shelved" since their release, the ladies are all active in some phase of Relief Society Work and the years make no difference as they continue happily on. The ladies attending the party were Mina Webb, Clara Webb, Jennie Patrick, Delia Fox, Julia Hunter, Susie Whipple, Ethel and Watkins, Lucy Whitman, Fern Russon. The purpose of the study, which was first sponsored by the State Department of Education, is to help evaluate and improve the follo- local high school. The classes which were chosen to be representative of the recent students of the local school are the classes of 1940, 1950 and 1952. Every member of these classes whose address could be secured have been sent the same questionnaire that was sent to graduates all over the entire state recently. Currently the state educational system has come under consider able fire from the state newspapers; and, in addition to this Lehi is contemplating the build ing of its new high school. Prin cipal Dan W. Peterson and his staff are interested in knowing what the recent studentbodies think of their education and how it can be improved. They would also like the former students of the community to express what they think should be added to the new plan offering of the school so that it might be provided for in the new building. The questionnaires were sent out less than a week ago; and already responses have been received from eight different states and the Territory of Alaska. All former students are urged to mail their responses to the questionnaire immediately that they too might become part of this study of the local school. by-go- sauntered near a table, Glimpsed a group of ladies there, Perhaps a little oldish But surprisingly sweet and fair.
