Ceremony A lovely event of the early spring season was the wedding of Miss Sharlene Ann Ritchie of American Fork, and Merlin E. Russon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Russon of Lehi. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Ritchie. Bishop Stanley D. Roberts per formed the ceremony, Wednes day, March 23, in the American Fork Second Ward meeting house, in a candlelight background. The bride chose a sown of white slipper satin, entrain, with tulle and lace details. A tulle and lace yoke, small satin collar and sleeves ending in graceful points were pleasing details. The illusion veil was lace trimmed and floated to fingertip length from a crown of pearlized orange blossoms. White stephanotis and pink roses composed the bridal bouquet. Miss DeAnn Russon, sister of the groom, stood as maid of honor. She donned a frock of pink organdy. Bridesmaids, Miss Joyce Ritchie, the bridee's sister; Miss Irene Monson, Miss Carol Roberts, Miss Marilyn Barratt and Miss Donna Richards wore like gowns in blue organdy. Their bouquets were of pink and white carnations and blue chrysanthemums. Verl Smith was best man and ushers were Glade Russon, Mark Littleford, Bruce Ashton, Eldon Huntsman and Kent Thrasher. The bride s mother wore gray with pink 'accessories and Mrs. Russon, senior was attired in gold with brown accessories. Each wore a corsage of pink rosebuds. Organ music was played by Byron Jensen and Reed C. New-bol- d played a trumpet solo on the program. The newlyweds are making their home at 385 East 1st North in American Fork. Prenuptial party hostesses were Miss Monson, Miss Barratt and Miss Richards. Named President Of Auctus Club MUSICAL PR0GRA3I FEATURED Mrs. Byron Whipple, now servwas ing as club advanced to the position of president of ths Auctus Ciub for the coming season. Mrs. Wane E. was elected Christensen and Mrs. Ralph Davis, secretary. Mrs. Noy Christoffer-so- n will retire as president and Mrs. Vern Webb as secretary. The meeting was held last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Warren L. Goates who followed the spring theme in refreshments and apopintments. Assisting as hostesses were Mrs. Odell Peck, Mrs. Joseph Robison and Mrs. Harold Mendenhall. Dr. J. W. McAllister of Brigham Voung University, presented an A appealling musical program. variety of solos and duet selections were included. Dr. McAllister was assisted by four singers and two accompanists. Mrs. Ruby Taylor and Miss Edna Mae Men denhall were included as special guests with 20 members present nt plant superintendent for the Pleasant Grove Canning Company and Mr. Webb as a plant foreman. Included in the convention gathering were representatives from many states. Included with the convention sessions was an evening banquet and dance. The ladies were entertained at an afternoon tea. FAMILY SURPRISES MRS. G. W. TRIPP ON BIRTHDAY Family members surprised Mrs. George W. Tripp on her birthday, Friday, March 25. Mr. and Mrs. Tripp are visiting here from Callao. MERLIN RUSSON Serimpian Club Mrs. Paul (Doris) Peterson was elected president of the Serimpian Club at the meeting held last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Leo Loveridge. She will be assisted by Mrs. Keith Smith as Mrs. Sherman Little, secretary; Mrs. Richard Bone, Mrs. secretary. corresponding Richard Webb was historian and Mrs. Ernest Cedar-strowill serve as program chairman. The civic committee includes Mrs. Sheral Covington, chairman, Mrs. Daro Hamilton and Mrs. Lewis Smith. On the gift committee are Mrs. Rulon Ungricht and Mrs. Dan Evans. Retiring officers are Mrs. Read Miller, president; Mrs. Vernon Mrs. Blamires, Dean Welch, secretary, and Mrs. Leo Loveridge, program chairman. Mrs. Blamires, scheduled by club proceedure to serve as the new president, plans to attend college and was excused from the position on that account. The Easter theme was followed in decorations and appointments. There were 21 present. Mrs. Miller took charge. vice-preside- LLOYD BONES HOME AFTER ARIZONA VISIT Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bone have just returned after a pleasant trip to Ray, Arizona, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Schroeder, parents of Mrs. Bone who will be remembered as former Lehi residents. They motored to Phoenix, where they enjoyed the western parade and rodeo and also witnessed the famous New Serimpian Club to Hold Benefit Cake Sale Saturday A wide variety of pies, baked to a king's taste, will be placed on sale Saturday, April 2, by the Serimpian Club, as a fund raising project. The sale will be held at Hutch's Lone Eagle Trading Post and at Wathen's Shoe Shop, be ginning at 10 a. m. As well as dessert pies there will also be a cream puffs, candy and meat pies, all home baked. Mrs. Grant B. Smith and Mrs. Philip Eckersley of the club civic committee, are in charge of the sale. Proceeds will go toward the club civic project. Everyone is urged to patronize the sale for choice home-bake- d foods. RADIO MISS LU DEAN STEWART TOURS IDAHO WITH USAC SYMPHONY Miss Lu Dean Stewart, well known graduate of the Lehi high school, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart, is spending five days on a special concert tour of Complete Idaho with the USAC symphony orchestra. She plays the clarinet. She recently enjoyed the thrill of Official Inspection Station playing in the orchestra with Alexander Schreiner as organ soloist, to an audience of 2000. Also active in singing, she was featured with a group of eight girls at the Sigma Chi dance.
