Mrs. Paul Julian Lehi to Host Region Three Orchestra Festival Wednesday Lehi High School will play host 200 young musicians Wednesday, March 30, when the annual Regional Three Orchestra Festival is held here. The concerts will begin at 6:30 p. m. in the high school auditorium, and the general public is cordially invited to attend and hear the participating musical groups. Six schools of the Region will bring orchestras to the festival including: Lincoln High, directed by G. E. Childs; American Fork, directed by K. J. Bird; Pleasant Grove, C. Harvey Rawlinson; Springville, Harmon R. Hatch; Spanish Fork, Robert Evans, and Lehi, Reed C. Newbold. Although the meet is not competitive, each orchestra will be judged as to quality and rated in a specific division. Judging the musical groups will be Miss Lorraine Bowman, orchestra conduct-e- r of East High School and member of the Utah Symphony Orchestra in which she plays viola. A list of required selections has been sent out by the State School Office, and each orchestra will be required to play one of these required numbers. Each will play three selections on the program, including two of their own choice. Reed C. Newbold, Lehi orchestra director, is in charge of arrangements for the festival. to some Named President Of Jaycettes Durfey Cleaners Observe Fifth Anniversary To Mrs. Paul Julian was elected president of the Jaycettes, auxiliary of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, this week. She will take over the reins of the club leadership from Mrs. Wayne All-reretiring president, at an installation banquet in the near future. Haws Durfey will hold open house on Friday and Saturday April 1 and 2. He extends a cordial invitation to individuals and groups to tour the plant between the hours of 9 a. m. and 6 p. m. on those dates, to view the regular Mr. Durfey cleaning process. and his staff will be prepared to explain the details of the various steps in safe, modern cleaning, and will answer any and all questions asked concerning the industry." Special door prizes and souvenir gfts wiill be presented to those who call. Ctizens should become more familiar with the dry cleaning process as carried on in Utah County, Mr. Durfey stressed, and should make it a point to visit his or other nearby plant for the purpose. Just why modern machinery and methods are safer for fabrics and those wearing the clothing is an impressive story. Clubs and organzations may make appointments to visit the plant at their convenience. Tabernacle auditorium during the morning and afternoon. Opening session of the forum. will be held from 9:30 a. m. until noon, with the afternon session from 12:30 to 2 30 p. m. During this lorum, students from the various schools will serve as junior legislators, introducing, debating and passing bills in the same manner as the Utah Legislature. The public is invited to attend these sessions and watch the junior statesmen at work. General assembly for the forensic meet will be held at 8:45 p. m. in the tabernacle, followed by the divisional contests in the tabernacle and high school building. All contests will be competitive, and winners selected to enter the State Forensic Meet April 1 and 2 in Salt Lake City.
