During his term as president, he d the planting of the Lehi Centennial Rose Garden, in 1950. Other clubs and individuals of the community cooperated and the rose garden has become an feature of Lehi's important centrally located Wines Park. It was also under his judisdiction that the rose garden and tulip beds were installed at the Lehi hospital grounds. Agent for the Union Pacific Railroad Company in Lehi since 3944, Mr. Ferman, assisted by his note wife, has achieved state-wid- e for the garden established at the old depot grounds, which includes trees, grass and many varieties of flowers. The garden was literally established on the old cinder roadway, by hauling in soil and intensive cultivation. Mr. and Mrs. Ferman and their young daughter, Linda, have won many awards for their specimen entries and arrangements in local, neighboring and state shows. The Fermans have assisted many local gardeners in placing entries in outlying shows." His service at the city park, Wines Park, both on a voluntary basis and as official caretaker, have added greatly to the beauty of that spot. Mr. Ferman is an active member of the Lehi Lions Club and as secretary of that organization has received awards each year for outstanding secertaryship.
