Commencement Exercises Scouts Express Appreciation Eoy Scouts not only perform good turns they appreciate it when they are on the receiving end Anyway that's the way seven explorer scouts from Pennsylvania expressed it in a letter to Mayor Sharp this week. The seven, six boys and their leader, Stanley Boyer, were traveling through Lehi ias,t spring when nightfall overtook them. Upon inquiring where they could set up camp for the night Mayor Sharp and policeman Albert Mitchell got busy and obtained the old elementary school site, near the Memorial building, for their use. Arrangements were made for the boys to tour the John Hutch-ing- s Museum early the next morning and then they visited Sunday School at the Lehi Second Ward, Church of Jsus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, their first encounter with the people of Utah. That they appreciated the stay is borne out by their letter: "We are the scouts from One Master of Education degree and five Bachelor of Science decrees were conferred upon Lehi residents last week at the 82nd annual commencement at Brigham Young University Friday, August 16. Dale H. Price received the Master of Education degree, and Bachelor of Science degrees were awarded to Arva W. Bone, Ben-ar- r Judd, Donald J. Stone, Glen-ni- s Wing Devey and Marilynn W. Adamson. Dale 11. Price, who received his master's degree during the graduation exercises, instructor in the English department at Lehi High School, has as his thesis! "An Appraisal of the Practises in the Alpine School District." He is married to the former Carma Gray, and they have one son, Tracy. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Price. Arva Wing Bone is a native of Lehi, a daughter of Mrs. Rachel Wing and the late J. W. Wing. She received her education in the Lehi schools and at the B. Y. U. where she received her normal diploma in education in 1933. She taught two years at the Pleasant Grove Central school and one year in the Lehi elementary school be fore her marriage to George I. Bone. They have three children, Brian, serving with the U. S. Army at Fort Lewis, Washington, John and Margaret. During World War II she taught the sixth grade at Lehi for half a day, and later worked in the principal's office for half a day as well. The last few years she e has been a sixth grade teachers at the Lehi Elementary He attended the U. of U., where he was an honor student, returning to the B.Y.U. for this summer. His major is education. He and his wife, the former Clara Ann Smith of Virginia, will leave August 20 for Brea, California, where he will teach in the elementary school there.
