Miss Hansen is a former stud ent of the University of Utah, where she was affiliated with Lambda Delta Sigma and was president of Phi. Chi Theta. Mr. Chatfield graduated from the University of Utah where he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, honorary fraternity. He majored in administrative education ana carried a minor of music, both vocal and instrumental. A Navy man during World War II, he spent 18 months in active service, with overseas duty at Shanghai. He sang with the famous navy "Bluejacket Choir." He fulfilled a two year mission in the Eastern States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and during that time travelled with the "Centennial Chorus." He was well known for his musical ability during his high school years and in community affairs. Among church positions held was that of class leader for his Seventies J. Ferrin Gurney of the Lehi high school faculty, and Leo Hansen, Alpine District supervisor, returned Friday, after attending the "Guidance Convention," in Los Angeles, California. Sessions were held at the Biltmore Hotel. While in California, Mr. Gurney visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Robert son, relatives, and also enjoyed a brief reunion with Miss Anna Nichol, LDS convert from England, whom he had known while on his mission there. He has served in that capacity since the first of the year and will continue until the end of his mission next autumn. Elder Peterson's position was anounced in the 'Church Section" of the "Deseret News," as follows: 'Elder H. Donl Peterson was recently appointed and set apart as second counselor to President Ray E. Dillman of the Western States Mission. He was set apart by Elder John Longdon, assistant to the Council of the Twelve. "Elder Peterson was born in Lehi, Feb. 17, 1830, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. After his graduation Peterson. from high school, he attended Brigham Young University and during his Junior year, was elect ed president of his class. Elder Peterson entered the mis sion field, October 26, 1950. He labored in the west Colorado district for a number of months, un til transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico. A short time after he arrived in Albuquerque, he was appointed supervising Elder of the West New Mexico District, and served in that position until his appointment as counselor."
