Discussions to this end began early in the year, and Legionaires considered a number of possible projects, including the building of a swimming pool, purchase oi a veterans home, and building of a ball park for the children. As discussions progressed, the Legion called a meeting of all World War II veterans to hear their views on the matter. This group decided that the most feasible project was the ball park, and voted to go ahead with plans. Thomas Powers was appointed chairman of a committee to work on the memorial, and his com mittee includes Stanley M. Taylor, A. J. Peterson, Roger Graham and Dean Kirkham. To finance the memorial, the Legion hopes to obtain $10,000 due from the Utah County memorial fund collected by tax levy during World War II. Mr. Powers reports that activity on the war memorial will get into full swing after the holidays. Another activity of the Legion has been rifle practice at the post's rifle range near the Point of the Mountain. The range is now in fine condition, and Legion members hope to increase this marksmanship training during the coming year. The Legionaires have also taken care of military honors at the funerals of veterans and war dead in this area. Officers are Ernest Cedarsrom, commander; Keith Evans, vice commander; Stanley M.
