Filth Ward Birthday Party Slated It Pays to Advertise JOl AMERICAN ENJOYS SOUTH AFRICAN MISSION Mr. and Mrs. Walter Webb received word that Elder Gordon Owen, a grandson, is enjoying his missionary work in the South African LDS Mission, although the climate is very hot. Travelling is done by bicycle and Elder Owen has covered over 1000 miles. Missionary work begins early in the morning and continues until late in the evenings with the frequent holding of cottage meetings. Elder Owen made a special comment on the excellent fruit grown there. "Grapes are as big as apricots, ho wrote. Well known in Lehi, he has spent his summers with his grandparents here for a number of years. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Owen of Salt Lake City.
