Show ELDERS CHRISTMAS HOSPITAL REPORTS PLAN GAINS PROGRESS IN SEWING GETS F. A. WIDE APPROVAL MACHINE DRIVE Civic, business, social, literary, and fraternal organziations of the city are cooperating with the Elders of the Stake in their efforts to help all of Lehi's children to enjoy a Merry Christmas, according to Eldon A Harding, central committee chairman. Some eighteen beautifully de corated boxes have been placed in business houses in both business sections so that persons who wish may contribute gifts of cloth ing, food, game, and other articles suitable for a child's Christmas. The boxes are blue trimmed in silver and red colors with a landscape depicting houses, deer, and trees with the slogan "Place Your Packages here for the Needy Children" stenciled on the side. Merton Grant, in charge of distribution of the gifts, states that quorums of all wards of the Stake are helping with the various details of the program and that several clubs had volunteered to place gifts in the boxes as an organization project. Among organizations endorsing the program in addition to the Priesthood quorums are the Lehi Riding Club, the Ladies Riding Club, the American Lehi chapters; Lions Legion, Club, Auctus, Athenian, Olympian, Liahonian, and Serimpian ladies clubs;- Jaycees, and members of the Better Business As sociation. Merchants have cooperatively offered their assistance in this undertaking. Quorum chairmen are Orien Schow, Evan Colledge, Eldon Harding, Lloyd Busker, and James Ferrell. The project to purchase a new sewing machine for the Lehi Hospital has been supported by a number of local organizations, according to G. S. Peterson, mar ager. .bout two months ago Mr. Peterson mentioned that a sew ing machine was badly needed at the hospital but that the bud get made no allowance for such a purchase. Since that time the following organizations and in dividuals have contributed to the machine project: V. F. W. Auxiliary, $5.00; V. F. W., $5.00 Social clubs, $6.50; Dr. Elmo Ed- dington, $10.00. Opportunity is yet afforded for clubs and individuals to partici pate in this important project ner White will conduct the services at the morning and even ing service, with Elder Johnson and Elder Jones of the Latter- day Saints bringing the messages.
