BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF LELAND J. RUSSON Leland Joyce Russon was born in Lehi, November 19, 1925. He was the son of Lott E and Fern Brown Russon. Leland was baptized into the church when he was eight years old and was an ardent worker as long as his health permitted. He attended all church organizations as a child and was happy with each new calling in the priesthood. While he was president of the Teachers quorum in the ward he received a letter from the Presiding Bishopic, congratulating him for his outstanding work while holding that position. That letter is a prized possession of the family When he became of age he was ordained a Priest, during the time the group was under the direction of Ernest Rothe. Leland was a very willing and active worker, both at home and in school and received high marks in all "us studies, with many words of praise from his teachers. He became ill while in his Junior year at high school, but continued his studies as long as possible. He was very faithful and prayerful, and relied much upon the Lord during his illness. He was always hopeful of recovery, even though he continued to gradually grow worse.
