The boys brought rakes, hoes, shovels, forks, wagons (large and small), teams and drags, and best of all they were all prepared for work There were no sluffers. The work be gan before nine o'clock and by noon it was nearly all done. At one o'clock the work was resumed again in dead earnest and by two thirty there was not an ounce of dirt or a dead leaf out of place. We have received instruc tions from the superintendent that buildings and grounds are to be clean ed before the educational drive but Huntington as usual Is allready over the top. The sixth grade Is still studying the geography of Emery county. They have sent out letters of inquiry to the other towns of the county and have already received replies from the fol towns: Orangeville, Green lowing 'River, Woodslde. Molen. and Clawson Mr. M. E. Johnson visited the sixth grade last week and gave them a very interesting lecture on the early history of Emery county. They are expecting others of the pioneers In the near future. The third grade students, under the direction of Miss Lemmon, have erected an excellent log cabin, made of willows, in honor of Lincoln. Swenson. All expressed them selves as having been well paid for going. Tuesday at 11:30 the academy and district school joined in a procession and it was a long one too. The E. S. A. band led and we paraded all the important streets in town. The many bill boards that we carried expressed cur enthusiasm over the proposed bond issue and our desire to help boost for better schools. We appreciate the educational meetings held here Sunday and Tuesday nights and feel that everyone who attended obtained much food for thought. What about that pennant? We had two weeks of school last month and during that time we had ninety-eigper cent attendance and only twenty-thre- e tardy marks. Can you beat it? Reports show that no one else came up to that mark but we haven't received the pennant yet. We are still in the race, however," and hope the next time we win we will get the reward that Is due. This is French week and, besides learning what France has done for us we are giving our nickels and dimes to help pay for the monument that the l"nited States is going to present to that nation.
