Show Friday, April 3, 1992 The Daily Utah Chronicle Frampton from page seven seemed very enthusiastic about Frampton's arrival. The audience did include some younger fans, among them were "Dead Heads" who seem to find their way to every concert and dance accordingly. Frampton took the stage at about 10 p.m. and was graciously received by a sold-ou- t Zephyr crowd. He opened with one of his new songs, appropriately titled "Back to the Start," which is exactly where Frampton went. Almost all of the songs performed by Frampton were representations of his older stuff. This included such hits as "Damn Shame," "Show Me the Way," "I'm in You," and a collection of other songs to be found on Frampton Comes Alive his most enduring album. Half way through the show, Frampton moved in to a solo acoustic performance. The was however, sound, intolerable to Frampton, so he stopped in the middle of one song and finished it as a solo electric performance. "I'm not going to be outdone," Frampton said, referring to the less than satisfactory acoustics. The highlight of the show came during a predictable and extended "Do You Feel Like I Do." Frampton still displayed his voice box method of guitar playing. The only downfall to was this the song unwelcomed addition of constant feedback. But, taking things in stride, Frampton professed, "Some days you eat the bear, and some days the bear eats you." At midnight, after exiting 1 - Page Nine "Nobody really understands how hard it is to stop smoking." jpiV the stage, Frampton came back on and played his only encore. It was an old Humble Pie song, a band to which Frampton used to belong. The song was called "I Don't Need No Doctor." It was about this time that I decided I ofo did indeed need a doctor, one that could reconstruct my damaged eardrums. Frampton does deserve more credit than I am giving, however. He has been a consistent songwriter over the years. He definitely still has an impressive following and according to one man that was on the front row screaming, "I love you man," his fans love him. The fans were probably the most interesting part of the show. One fan was heard to say, "Frampton is the best. He still hasn't lost his stuff." Oh well, to each his own.
