Rolfe Kerr, USHE commissioner, said "The search committee has completed its work," and the four recommended names will be handed over to a Board of Regents committee to consider. The committee's decision will be delayed until after the 1998 Winter Olympics site is chosen, Kerr said, because two committee members will be in England to hear the announcement. The regents committee would have one week to decide before this announcement, he added, and they don't want to rush the decision. The Olympics announcement itself will not affect the decision for the new U. president. This delay means the announcement will not be made until the last week of June, he added, and an "interim arrangement" may need to be established before the new see "search" on page three Do Re Mi The University of Utah's Music Department recently University of Utah officials are currently in the process of On June 4, 1976 , the Chronicle reported: "That's all folks. Chase Peterson, U. president, sent a memo to all university employees to notify them of the prospective changes in the U.'s policy. However, a recent, detailed review of the law see "retirement" on page three revamping the U.'s early retirement benefit program in an effort to comply with a recent law passed by Congress. The Attorney General's office advised the personnel department that the U. is in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. It recommended that the U. eliminate benefits given to early retirees, because it is unfair that the ASUU's Public Affairs Board members hope to let Utah State representatives know University of Utah students care about higher education issues by spearheading a program facilitating communication between students and legislators. "The legislators will see they have constituents who are also U. students. We feel in the past the U.'s lobbying efforts have lacked student input," Mark Braza, co-cha- ir, said. "We hope it will give students a chance to express their views and become active in the political process," he explained. Braza said that of the 75 representative districts in Utah, he hopes to target 35 to 40 districts in Salt Lake and Davis counties. "Right now, we are organizing students within the different districts, so we can come up with groups to meet legislators."
