Davis and Berkey will be joined by page antiquated music Mannheim Steamroller is definitely not stodgy. If the upbeat "Toccata doesn't get your toes tappin you must be comatose. Almeda Berkey, Jackson's wife, on supporting keyboards and Eric Hansen on fretted instruments such as lute, classical guitar and bass. Ric Swanson will play heavy percussion for the concert. He is an artist with American Gramaphonc Records and has released an album Urban Surrender, which was on the Billboard charts last week. Seven local musicians will also help out during the Christmas sequence to make the sounds more authentic. There will be a harp, violins, an oboe and two cellos. Of course, Berkey will hopefully play his toy piano and you'll see a lot of unusual instruments that make sounds you've never heard. But don't take it from me, get to the Capitol Theatre this weekend for a breath of fresh air. If you're still wary of Mannheim and Steamroller, youll get a chance to sec hear for yourself that a Fresh Aire concert shouldn't be missed. The group will be at the Capitol Theatre through Nov. 17 with performances at 8 p.m. and a 2 p.m. matinee and 7 p.m. evening performance on Sunday. It promises to be unlike any musical concert you've ever attended. Mannheim Steamroller doesn't just play their music, they perform it along with video extras. If the snow hasn't put you in the Christmas mood, wait until you hear songs from their holiday album.
