Show f 1 1fU UK ThtOmajVtmh title look to the Beans and Stealers games Underdog by United Press International The Pittsburgh Steelers have been walking a balance beam above elimination the past few weeks. They have tottered, but have refused to fall off the playoff caravan. Needing a victory on the last week of the regular season to get into the playoffs as AFC Central Division champions, the underdog Steelers turned back the Los Angeles Raiders 13-- 7. Last Sunday, as underdogs again, Pittsburgh upended the West Division champion Denver Broncos 24-1-7 in an AFC semifinal playoff contest. This Sunday, Pittsburgh will be in the Orange Bowl to take on the favored Miami Dolphins in the AFC Championship game. And according to Steeler safety Eric Williams, the role of underdog is beginning to fit his club just right. "I'm sure no one will give us much of a chance, but that's fine with us, said Williams, whose interception Sunday against Denver set up Frank Pollard's winning touchdown. That just pulls us together. "We talk about how this paper says this and that paper says that and we can't understand it. We've beaten several good teams now and people still say we're sorry. For Pittsburgh to pull another upset it will have to reverse a little history. The Dolphins are 0 in conference championship games and 3 overall against the Steelers since their series began in 1 97 1 . Included in that history is a 31-- 7 thumping that Miami inflicted this season at Three Rivers Stadium. "I don't thinkM well be overconfident," Miami coach Don Shula said.
