Clay Taliaferro has choreographed a dance for men. drawing from his southern heritage. Music for this work is Paul Robeson's. In addition. Taliaferro has reconstructed "The Purple Waltzes." a women' trio he choreographed in 1980 to music by Brahms. Taliaferro's movement is fascinating in his juxtajosiiion of resistance and yielding u iihin ihe luinian both.
