Welis The annual Christmas party has been scheduled for Tuesday evening, December 21 at the church under the direction of the Promontory Community Association officers Betty Marx, Leo Flint and Helen Brown. The school children will present a Ec-cle- Christmas play. Mrs. Wanda Larsen is back to school this week following a six weeks intermittent illness spending some time in a Tremonton and Ogden hospital. Mrs. Helen Brown was the substitute teacher during her absences, and Mrs. Doris Flint was the substitute cook for the school lunch. Everyone hopes she recovers quickly and is able to assume her full time family party. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Anderson returned home Friday after the past week at spending Grand Junction, Colo., where they attended a Beet Growers Convention. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Earl spent Friday in Salt Lake City and while there visited with Wayne Garn at the L.D.S. Hospital. They are enjoying their Army duty there and send greetings to their Wal-dro- Planetarium Seen as Boon To State Tourism and Capital City The new Hansen Planetarium, hailed by experts as the finest between Chicago and the West Coast, will be a "boon to tourism on a statewide basis" as well as a major national attraction for Salt Lake City. Utah Travel Council officials believe. Housed in the remodeled public library at 15 Souih Stale Street, the planetarium was made possible by a WOO.00J gift from Mrs. George T. Hansen in memory of the late Utah oil industry pioneer. It opened its doors Nov. 27 for its first public showing. "The Star of Bethlehem." with four presentations scheduled weekdays 'except Mondays' and three showings Sundays through January 2. The heart of the planetarium is a $2D0.(M)() star projector, an electronic marvel housed in a domed chamber. For the initial showing, visitors, seated in soft c h a i r s. see the contoured heavens as they appeared in the Holy Land at the time of the birth of Jesus. Utilizing the computerized projector, planetarium director Mark Littman is able to reproduce phenomena in the heavens such as a nova, comets, and the juxtaposition of planets which may have resulted in the mysterious star leading the three wise men to the manger at Bethlehem. Presentations at the Hansen Planetarium will change monthly. In addition to the projector, termed by Mr. Littman "as modern and sophisticated as friends here.
