Here are some things to keep in mind when this method of storage is used. Store food of original high quality. When you buy food for storage, buy from a reputable dealer. Use food often: replace food often. Long storage adds nothing to food value or eating quality, but it does add to cost. The more the freezer is used, the lower the cost per package for freezing and storing. Keep a record of kinds of food and amounts that go into the freezer. Mark each package with the date stored. Rotate the food. Place new packages at the bottom or back of the storage area. Keep unfrozen or warmed packages from touching those already in storage. Use the oldest food, first. For best eating quality, use frozen food before its suggested maximum storage period expires. The home storage maximums are based on studies with commercially frozen foods but may also be used Cherries, peaches, raspberries, strawberries Fruit Juice Concentrates: Apple, grape, orange .. . . 12 . . with Bakery Products: White bread, plain rolls ..
