Baking presents no problem for Mrs. David (Anita Hunsaker) Kilfoyle of Garland who bakes continually the year round. "My mother was an exceptionally good cook" Anita said. "I suppose I inherited some of her love for cooking. My husband is very easy to cook for, just so I don't serve soups or sandwiches. I thoroughly enjoy baking and also make lots of enticing desserts." Anita spent her girlhood in Honeyville and graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City. She was later employed at the Box Elder Enterprise and also did secretarial work for Law's Dodge. It was Anita's sister who arranged for the first date fori Anita and David. "I wasn't too impressed after our first date," she confided; ''but we continued dating and thljBJfiars later were married. We lived irv Bothwell about five years before moving to Garland." The Kilfoyles have a lovely home at 196 West 1025 South which Anita keeps immaculate. Among her hobbies she lists art work - sketches, charcoal and ink painting. Many of her paintings have prominent places in her home. One wall in their son, Ryan's, room has a huge painting of a whale. Kristen's room has paintings suitable for an adorable little girl. Ryan is 5 and Kristen just Garland-Tremonto- n Literary Club met Wednesday evening at the home of With the promise of cooler days ahead, most housewives are now ready to start baking for the holiday season just around the corner. "David calls me a Domestic Engineer instead of a housewife - it has a better sound, don't you think?" She laughed. Anita is involved as a Primary teacher, teaching the four-yea- r olds. She is a Relief Society visiting teacher and an active member of the Civic and Home Arts Club. "I was on the committee for our opening social in Relief Society in October and we had a German menu. It was really interesting. We will have three other socials during the year. I will assist in the menus for each. I have basic menus made up in advance for our family. My husband, who, incidentally, is employed at Thiokol Corp. likes plain meals. One evening I made a very elaborate dish, it took me hours to prepare it, David simply sat and stared at it and so I didn't try that any more. We have a vegetable garden each summer and I do lots of canning." Today Anita shares some of their favorite recipes with The Leader readers.
