Only Ben Lomond and Og-de- n have any thing to shoot at in the standings. Davis has locked up the Region Four title with perfect 0 record and the Bees have locked up a quarterfinal state berth by virtue of their defeat of Ogden. Ogden could conceivably tie the" Bees if 6-- the Bears pull an upset, but their loss to the Bees keeps them out of the berth. Ogden and BenLomond, though, are battling for. a chance to enter a playoff contest with the winner getting a state bid. The Bears stand in seventh place in the region following a 22-- 0 loss to South recently. South and Logan both have 4 records while the Bears 2-- are Once again it was mistakes which proved the Bears & u adrenalin flowing against undoing although their offensive unit moved the all well all night. Inside the 20 yard line of South four times, the Bears failed to score giving up the ball. Meanwhile South took advantage of the Bear River secondary passing for two TD's. Hi Halloween may be Monday according to the calendar, but local grade schools will celebrate it Friday evening, Oct. 28, with their traditional carnivals and festivities. Garland School At the Garland Elementary, school activities get under way at 6:30 p.m. with tacos, corn dogs, salad, and drinks available for eating. Volunteer leaders from the Northern Box Elder County Unit of the American Cancer Society attended the annual Education and Crusade Conference on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City September 15 and 16. Leon J. Holland, Unit President and Arlene Ficklin, Service and Rehabilitation chairwoman attended workshops to learn more about g service, education and programs in which their unit can participate. A variety of subjects were explored at the Conference. Among them: cancer- research in Utah, with a tour of some of the projects in progress at the U of U at the present time; the emotional needs of cancer patients; a panel discussion on the controversial drug, Laetrile. Volunteers were praised by Gov. Scott M. Matheson for service to their community and state. Guest speaker was Dr. Rulon W. Rawson, formerly with the University The Fright Factory opened its doors Tuesday, Oct. 25, and will continue every night (except Sunday) until Monday, Oct. 31. Hours are: Oct. 7 to 11 p.m.; Oct. and Halloween, 6:30 p.m. until midnight. Please notice the graveyard scene as you enter. It was created by Betty Bone and students from the Bear River High School. Outside spooks and fortune-tellin- g are being handled by May Darrington and Venice Maughan. Proceeds of the event will go to the Utah Heart Association. North Park School Park Elementary 25-2- activities get under way at 5:30 p.m. with food, games and prizes slated. Howell School Elementary will break the Friday night pattern and get an early start. Their Halloween carnival is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27. Sponsored by the PTA, the carnival includes food and fun, and games.
