Harris accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gleed of Malad to Wendell, Idaho Sunday where they were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Madsen. Monday the three couples drove to Boise, Idaho where they attended the inaugural of Idaho's new Governor John V. Evans. Governor Evans is a native of Malad. The couples returned home Monday evening. Noel Gibbs of Monroe, Utah was a Saturday and Sunday guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Gibbs. Arriving at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chester P. Neal Wednesday was Mr. .Veal's sister, Mrs. Laura Harrington of Butte, Montana. Mrs. Harrington visited for a week and returned home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bell of Ogden visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Bell, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Snow and families Sunday. Elder Devere Harris, regional representative, accompanied Elder L. Tom Perry to the Twin Falls Idaho West stake to reorganize the stake presidency. Friday, Saturday and Sunday Elder Harris was overnight guest of the new stake president. President and Sister Don Wattson and Elder Perry stayed with the outgoing president and wife, President and Sister Tate. A youth conference was held and the regular conference session. Elder Harris returned home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wynn John and son, Larry, and daughter, Melanie, took Jeff and Julie Williams of Malad to Salt Lake City Sunday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sharrell Williams, who are very ill in the LDS Hospital and the Veterans Hospital. Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wynn John were Mr. and Mrs. Jeddie Ricks of Benson and Miss Marlene John of Logan. Saturday dinner guests of Mrs. Esther John were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Facer and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Jeppson and daughter, Machell, all of Taylorsville. Saturday and Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Gibbs were Mrs. Merrie Petty and family of Farmington. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Morris took their grandson, David, back to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Morris of Garland. David had spent the past week with his grandparents. Monday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Howell were Mr. and Mrs. Don Fornsgren of Thatcher, Idaho. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall visited in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Don Bowen and family. They also attended a session in the Temple. Keith and Aaron Lamb, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lamb of Plymouth were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Udy and family. Mr. and Mrs. Val Dee Gibbs were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Gibbs' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Starr of Plymouth. Mrs. Gerwin (Luetta Barnes) Johp was buried here Friday. Funeral services were held in the Third Ward. Her husband preceded her in death. She is the mother of two sons and one daughter. Among those attending the viewing and funeral services for David Burton (Burt) Napier in Malad Tuesday evening and Wednesday, were Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Thelma Gibbs, Azella Gibbs, Arthur L. Gibbs and Ila Mae John. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Wiser of Eden, Idaho were guests of Mrs. Wiser's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester P. Neal Friday and Saturday. Congratulations to Julee Hawks and Chris Perry who were married in Salt Lake City Thursday. Julee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua D. Hawks of Portage and Chris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Perry of Logan. Elder L. Tom Perry C. Harris, performed the marriage, among those witnessing the marriage were the parents, also Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hawks of Rexburg, Mrs. Jo Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Morris and son, Steven Morris, and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Dunyon, all of Midvale, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris and Bishop and Mrs. Douglas Gibbs of Portage. Following the wedding the party enjoyed a wedding dinner in the church office building. A reception was given by the bride's parents Friday evening at the Tremonton Stake Center and several from our ward attended and wished the young couple the best in life. Friday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas were Mr. and Mrs. Kent Thomas of Provo. Mrs. J. Reed Nielsen visited in Ogden Wednesday. Her grandson Dustin Cannon, came home with her and stayed until Sunday when his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cannon and sons came up and visited Mrs. Cannon's parents and they took Dustin home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Morris and grandson David were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Hupp and daughters in Hansel Valley. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hawks were Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hawks and family of Rexburg, Idaho. Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Esther John were Mrs. Jesse Paskette of Salt Lake City and her daughter, Mrs. Lee Mayo and sons of Germany. Mrs. Mayo will stay in Salt Lake City until her husband is released from the Army in July. Mrs. Wynn John accompanied her sister, Mrs. Vernal Goodey of Clarkston to Malad Thursday where they enjoyed a birthday dinner for Mrs. Goodey at the home of their mother, Leona Williams. Other sisters enjoying the day together were Mrs. Gerald Williams of Malad and Mrs. Bill Hill of Choir Gives Program At Sacrament Service Fryer Sunday evening provided an extra spiritual benefit as a large crowd attended Sacrament Meeting to hear the Bear River High School A CapHla Choir. The outstanding voices of a large group of young people under the able direction of leader, Carl Asliby, was thrilling to hear. One could not help but think of the many hours of concentrated effort it lakes, both by Mr. Ashby and these young people to acquire the excellent delivery they master in their songs. Miss Merrilee Coburn and Miss Kathy Ririe, two of our lovely young ladies sing in this choir. Talks were given by Miss Christine Grow, Miss Diane Gardner, Miss Coburn and Miss Ririe. Jean Wright Hunsaker accompanies the choir and It was years ago since her beautiful voice was to be only a few heard singing with this ,roup. We have always been proud of the young people in Dewey ville who have sung in tho choir throughout the years. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Gardner were Sunday dinner quests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pett in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Haycock were in Salt Lake City, last Wednesday. Warren attended meetings of the Land Board at the State Capitol and Norma visited with her sister, Mrs. Elaine New-some. Word about Ron Lewis is that there is a possibility surgery can be avoided and he will wear a large cast for several months and be at home.
